We all sat down after lunch and discussed what we think the trim trail should contain. We all came to the same conclusion that it would be better used if it was a mixture of seating and areas to hang out with a outdoor classroom area which could cater to many subjects. There is plenty to going on so I started tracing over plans and attempting to work the site out properly. It can be fairly simply divided in to three sections:
1. The bicycle parking and hard play area
- Pupils arrive here in the mornings and could interact with the start of the trail.
- Could be used if a pupil is waiting to be picked up by a parent after school or sports events.
- Entices people to use the trail
2. The Trees
- There are a scattering of trees blocking any deep digging on this bit of land. To the extent that the nearby path had to use a 'no-dig' construction method so that the roots were not interrupted.
3. Opposite the Wetlands
- Although an ideal place to sit and look out to the ponds, this section is wider than the preceding ones and could therefore be used student gardens or learning areas for the sciences and humanities departments.
